The Sicamous Eagles lost a close game against the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
The Eagles were playing in front of a home crowd of more than 100 and scored four goals, but it wasn’t enough as the Wranglers got five.
In the first period, only one goal was scored. The Wranglers’ Ethan Sanders potted his first of three goals through the night with just seven seconds left in the frame.
That would fire up the Eagles, as they came out in the second period and scored a goal 17 seconds in. Dmitry Dyskin got the goal, assisted by Devin McNair. Sicamous would follow that goal up with two more, one from Johnny Lopez and one from Joseph Jankowski, to take a 3-1 lead.
Jankowski is from Malakwa and it was his first goal in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. It was a top-shelf slapshot.
The Sicamous Eagles would score their third on a bad bounce that gave local hockey product #15 Joseph Jankowski the puck in the slot where he'd rip it top shelf for his first in the KI! #goeaglesgo #goal #clapper #beauty #highlights @KIJHL @KijhlS pic.twitter.com/vfRhIlsah7

In the third period, the Eagles would take the lead again with a goal from Alex Smith, assisted by Tyler Rimstand. The Wranglers would respond with goals from Bhavin Serown and Sanders, who completed his hat-trick to give his team the 5-4 win.
